So…this is awkward…but…in case you didn’t notice, ITJS has been on hiatus.  It’s actually less of a hiatus, more of a “I’m seeing other people,” and by other people, I mean a new website,” which happens to be TheCallboard.com, a new online resource for actors!  But lunch special lovers, fear not, for on TheCallboard, I have created a blog called [the starving artist], which is all about living cheaply in NYC, and is sure to include more fun and exciting food and drink specials here in the city.  And while it lacks the signiture 5-hotdog rating system, it’s broader subject matter allows for fun articles like “How to get a sugar daddy/mama” and “F#@k the MTA!”

It’s been a blast kiddos, but remember, no matter how special your lunch is, or how happy your happy hour, what we’ve had here, together, is the most special of all.

I know, I know….  It’s not going to be easy.  For both of us.  But if ever you miss me fiercely, know that, wherever there are $3 margaritas, I’ll be there. Wherever they give out freehotdogs with a purchase of a beverage, I’ll be there. Wherever they serve unlimited mimosas and bloody mary’s with your brunch order, I WILL BE THERE!

    Much love,

    Peter

Well, the holidays are here, and ITJS is officially taking a winter break!  I’m off to go global in Israel, cashing in on my birthright, a free trip for anyone under the age of 26 who is Jewish, has a Jewish ancestors, or just a larger than average nose.  I’ll be back on January 17th with a detailed account of Israel’s most special meal deals, and also continuing reviews on the best and the cheapest that NYC has to offer.  So whatever holiday you are celebrating this winter, may it be filled with bounteous bites and glorious gulps!  See you in 2010!
